Our Trip to Britney Spears in Pittsburgh

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Steph and I saw Britney Spears on her Circus tour with The Pussycat Dolls March 27th at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.  The show’s been sold out for months and ticket prices ranged from 50 bucks to 500 or more (face value)

Overall, the spectacle she put on was incredible.  There was a circus vibe with tons of performers on stage always.  There were jugglers, twirlers, stilt walkers, dancers, little people, clowns, you name it.  There was always something to look at.  Britney was obviously the highlight and she looked absolutely incredible.  I don’t know if me or my wife complimented her look more.

The performance from Britney seemed phoned in, though.  Her moves were not crisp, the whole show was lip synched, and she did not interact with the audience.  Her lone speaking part came about 45 minutes into the show when she said “Hey Pittsburgh”.  She said nothing more the entire show.

Overall, the spectacle was incredible.  We were thoroughly entertained.  For the amount she charges for a show though, we would’ve liked more audience interaction.  “Thanks for your support Pittsburgh”.  “I love you guys”.  “I’m really normal after all, Pittsburgh”..Something.  She also didn’t play a lot of hits, doing most of the songs off of her “Circus” cd.  She did “Hit me baby one more time”, but nothing else from that era.  Songs she did do included “I’m a slave for you”, “Everytime”, “Why don’t you do somethin”?  In looking back, I think a lot of people didn’t mind.

baby-3-10.jpg

I got the letter sent to me..Please read and help if you can.  Thank you

 Hello:
I am in dire need of your help.  My name is Emily and I have rescured a sweet 1 1/2 yr. old pit bull.  I am a social worker in a hospice program and thought I would easily be able to find a home for a terminally ill patient’s pit.  This family had rescued Baby from the freeway some months ago and they could no longer take care of her.  When I took Baby to Geauga animal shelter, I did not know that Ohio has a state law banning county animal shelters from adopting out pit bulls.  I, of course, did not want her to be euthanized, so I took Baby home with me.  However, I cannot manage to take care of her.  I have two young children, two dogs of my own (one a Rottweiler), and I work days and my husband works nights.  I have contacted many people who I thought might be interested, but without success.  All the dogs in my home are female, and they usually fair quite will, however, the Rottweiler is not fond of having Baby in the family.  I am desparate for shelter or a foster home for Baby.  Please help.  You can call my cell phone any time 216-469-0952.  I would be happy to transport Baby almost anywhere in Ohio or surrounding states.  She really is quite sweet, and I am attaching a couple of photos for you.

Thank you,
Emily

Hey guys!

So when you’re married with a little baby, you gotta get quick little getaways when you can.  Steph bought me tickets to see Nickelback in Detroit for my birthday, so we went over the weekend.  We went to Hooters and ate wings with not a care in the world about calories, we went to The MGM and gambled, we went to The Roma Cafe and had authentic Italian, we got ripped off my cab drivers who didn’t use the meter in their car, we walked down scary streets, watched Chad and the boys from awesome seats sing all the hits and then some, we drank great wine, we hung out, and we had a BLAST!  Thanks for checking out my pics
