Our family trip to The Finger Lakes

So, Steph and I simply adore The Finger Lakes in New York. So many memories we create there. It was one of our firsts trips together, I proposed to her there, and we just love the scenery and the wineries on all of the lakes. This year was extra special because we got to bring Madelyn with us. She was absolutely perfect. We had so much fun with her. Going and spending time with friends, having great conversation and great food…There is nothing better. Thanks for looking!!

Our Little Lady is 6 months Old

Now I understand why people love to take so many pictures of their kids. They literally change from day to day. We just got Madelyn’s pictures taken at the Target in Mayfield Hts. Kind of a long way from Strongsville, but they come highly recommended. They were just great. I recommend going there with a coupon, because we got a TON of pics for like 75 bucks. Without our coupon there would’ve been a sitting fee and the pics would be 14.99 a sheet. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Madelyn’s first Halloween

Ahh, the first’s keep coming. We were gonna dress our little lady up like a grape (You know, the Merlot thing??)..LOL But we decided on making her another fruit, the strawberry. She is so precious, and so full of life, and always smiling…She is sick for the first time right now, but still giggling and smiling. Thanks for taking a peak!! Pictured are me and Steph, Steph’s mom, and my mom!!

Off to the orchard!

Fall is a time to rake leaves, say goodbye to summer, and get those cute fall pictures with your baby girl next to an apple. The girls and I went to an Orchard in Medina and picked apples this past weekend. Madelyn is developing these rosy cheeks because she’s teething now and is cuter than a red delicious. Now, it’s off to make pie!!!

MY FIRST HALF MARATHON!!

So, I’ve always wanted to accomplish a half marathon. Actually, I’ve always wanted to run a whole marathon, but baby steps, you know?? Our church has been raising money for a 9 year old boy who passed away 2 years ago from cancer. The money would be used to build a baseball field in his name and a play area that all the school kids in Medina could use. I wanted to thank all the people who donated to my run. Your generosity, combined with Adam’s legacy is what kept me running the whole time. I can’t describe the feeling of crossing the finish line and knowing what I accomplished. All I can say is, we’re forming a running club so that we run the full marathon next year. I can’t wait to be a part of it!

Madelyn has some more firsts!!

Ahh, how time flies. Madelyn is getting so big. I’m expecting her to borrow the Accord any day now. Every day, she seems to be doing something new. In the following pics, Madelyn is in her Baby Einstein for the first time, eating for the first time ever with a spoon, wearing big girl outfits, eating her feet for the first time, and beginning her fascination with the spiked grape juice. She has great taste though, it’s a Lafond 2005 Syrah from Santa Barbara, one of the wineries featured in the blockbuster movie “Sideways”..I know, I appear somewhat weird. Thank you all for checking out such big moments for my beautiful family!!!

My Big Run

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Hey guys!

I will be participating in my first half-marathon on Saturday September 27th.  This is my second year participating in the run as we try to raise money for a baseball field and playground in memory of Adam, a 9 year old member of our church who passed away from cancer.  I wanted to post the info about the run and ask if anyone has the ability to help out, the whole community would be so thankful.

“Sometimes when I’m brave I don’t want to be. I just like to feel brave because I like the meaning of brave for me.”- Adam Dunaye

You may recall that our church family and the Highland community lost Adam to cancer three years ago. There was a great outpouring of support for the Dunaye family and we’d like to continue Adam’s legacy. The Church at Stony Hill will again be participating in the Akron

Marathon September 27th. Our goal is to raise money to continue Adam’s legacy as a way of supporting the community in remembrance of Adam Dunaye. We will be providing a new playground for the children of the community and for the Stony Hill Preschool which begins this fall. This money will also be used to support our youth group and elementary students so that we may reach out to more children.

Runner: Glenn Anderson

Distance: 13.1 miles

Pledge Your Support

Here’s How It Works: To sponsor a runner you can make a pledge per mile run, or pledge a flat amount. For example: Five dollars a mile up to twenty-six miles would make your total pledge $130. Ten dollars would make your total pledge $260. We greatly appreciate any donation you can give us. Also, donate online: http://www.churchatstonyhill.com/onlinedonate.html

My Madelyn Tattoo!!

Monday, September 8th, 2008

When Madelyn was born, I knew it would be life changing. I wanted to commemorate the event somehow and decided on a tattoo. I wanted something that reflected the passions of my life. My faith, my beautiful daughter, and of course wine (since Madelyn’s middle name is merlot). I went to High Street Tattoo in Columbus on Saturday. I told Bret what I wanted and this is what he drew. It is such a personal thing, but to me he captured exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for stopping by to take a peak!

New Madelyn Pics 4 months!!!!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Man, our little lady is getting so big. She has turned from a newborn into a little person seemingly overnight. She is a very happy kid. She smiles all the time, she giggles. I have been teaching her the alphabet. She knows “a” so she is 1/26th of the way there. A budding prodigy, I think. Thanks for looking at our pictures!!!
